Right. So since I am training for the Virgin Marathon, I figured I'd blog about it so I'll remember in 20yrs time just how idiotic I can be.
I'll be putting in details of the runs themselves, of course, but I'll also try to explain how it feels as a decidedly average runner trying to push for a time that is challenging for my ability and willingness to train.
So, let's start with the basics:
I am in the Virgin London Marathon for 2011. I have just completed week one of the training schedule (I'll post about that shortly) and am feeling knackered.
I'm going for a sub-3hr 45min time. I'm doing this because I could guarantee a sub-4hr 30 min time, and so this is a heavy leap forward in terms of effort and training time. After all, if I'm going to do this (and it would appear that I am) then I may as well make it interesting, right?
More later.
